Abstract:
The present work was aimed to study the effect of carnitine on some biochemical parameters.160 males albino rats of different ages and 30 adult non pregnant female albino rats were used in this study .They were reared in metalic cages and climated in the Laboratory of Physiology and Biochemistry of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University under good hygenic conditions with room temperature of 25 c .Rats under study were classified into:Group 1 : It consisted of 30 male albino rats of different ages ( 10 rats of 12 weeks age , 10 rats of 16 weeks age and the others of 20 weeks age). This group was used for studying theeffect of age in this work.Group 11 : It consisted of 10 adult male albino rats and 10 adult non pregnant female albino rats for studying the effect of sex in our workGroup 111 : It consisted of 40 male albino rats of 12 weeks age. They were made under certain nutritional conditions where:10 rats received balanced diet, 10 rats recieved high carnitine rich diet, 10 rats received free carnitine diet and the last 10 rats were re-ceived high lysine and methionine ( endogeneous precursors of
