Abstract:
A total of (628) rabbits of various ages and sexes, collected fromMansoura at the period extended from January-December 1991 wereexamined. Only 102 have been found to harbour infection (16.25%). 84(13.37%) were infected with P. ambiguus and 18 (2.88%) with C. pisiformisseasonaly, the peak of infection with P. ambiguus was recorded in spring(20.91 %) followed by winter (15.18%), intermediate in autumn (9.93%) andlow in summer (7.69%). However, the infection rate with C. pisiformis wasranged from (3.93%) in spring to (1.29%) in summer. This investigation revealed that the adult rabbits were more susceptableto infection with P. ambiguus (21.8%) than small ones (8.9%). Moreover, female rabbits were more susceptable (18.8%) than males (5.5%).Detailed morphological studies has been applied to adult P. ambiguusworms, different types of eggs and the developmental stages of the parasites in the eggs and in the host (rabbit).Biological trials has been adopted for emberyonation of eggs fromdifferent sources (adult female uteri, faecal pellets of infected rabbits and
