Abstract:
In the present work 5000 slaughtered camels from both (Cairo and Belbis) abattoirs were examined during a period from December 1997 to December 1999.This study had been done for the purpose of detection of the parasiticlesions in the different internal organs and their causative parasites. In this study the detected parasitic infestation included (I) Trematode spp. which were represented by Fascioliasis (0.040/0)Macroscopically, the infested livers showed greyish white nodules which were about 5 mm in diameter and pale necrotic areas. Moreoaffected bile ducts were prominent and thickened. Microscopically, extensive fibrous tissue proliferation in the portal triads particularly around the bile ducts, together with the presence of necrosis and desquamation of the epithelial cell lining of the bile duct were seen. Granulomatous reaction which was represented center which was surrounded by Iymphocytes, macrophages andeosinophils celIs II-Cestodes infestation: (A) larval cestodes, which were represented by (1) calcified Cysticercosis, (a) heart cysticercosis (0.10/0). Macroscopically the infested heart muscle showed hard cysts whichappeared round and stone-like. Microscopically, the affected heart muscle showed non-suppurative myocarditis. Others showed the presence of granulation tissue which replaced the necrosed and destructed musclefibers.
