Some surgical external ear affections in animals

Abstract:
The present study was carried out on 1758 animals of different species, breeds, sexes, ages and body weights through experimental and clinical works .The experimental work wasperformed on 30 animals in two parts. The clinical work was conducted on 11777 animals where 1728 animals by incidence (14.67%) were affected with different external ear affectionsubjected to surgical treatment in most cases. (1) The experimental work included 2 main parts:(A) The first part was to evaluate the healing of the trimmed border with silk suturing and without suturing and also to evaluate the healing of different induced wounds (longitudinal-transverse-middle transverse) subjected tosuturing either by silk or staples. This part was performed on 20 healthy donkeys of different ages and sexes divided into: animals for trimming with and without suturing onboth ears 5 animals for longitudinal wounds with silk suturingand staplingon both ears.animals for transverse wounds with silk suturingand stapling on both ears.animals for middle transverse wounds with silk suturing and stapling on both ears. (B) The second part was to demonstrate suitable cosmeticprocedures to restore the missed segment of the pinnathrough application of two reconstructive techniques(pedicle flap technique and fusion of the two ears then .
