Abstract:
The present work was performed to study the effect ofantihistaminic drugs such as chloropheniramine maleate (H1blocker), Cimetidine ( H2 blocker) and the antiserotonin drug. asfluoxetineonsome biochemical parameters, blood picture,of albino rats beside the associated histopathological changes.Ninety healthy albino rats of both sexes were used in thisstudy. They were divided into 9 groups, each group of 10 ratsGroup(1) is control , Group (2) injected histamine 111v1Group (3) injected histamine followed by H, blocker(chloropheniramine) l/M therapeutic dose. Group (4) injectedhistamine followed chloropheniramine double dose Group .(5)injected histamine followed oral therapeutic dose of Cimetidine(H2 blocker). Group (6) injected with histamine followed oral’double dose of CiInetidine, Group (7) injected I/M withserotonin Group (8) injected with serotonin followed . byoral therapeutic dose of Fluoxetine (antiserotonin drug ).Group (9) injected with serotonin followed bYcdouble oral.doseof Fluoxetine. The duration of experiment was 7 succssive days in allgroups.Blood sample was collected from reto-orbital plexus forbiochemical analysis, another sample for haematological studieswith added EDTA anticoagulant Third sample for determinationprothrombin time using sodium citrate 3.8% as anticoagulant ..The ratswere sacriflcied . and specimens were collected from
