Abstract:
Four hundred and sixty-five diseased and freshly dead, 1-5 monthsI~d rabbits, were collected from different localities in Sharkia province to ietennine the causes of high morbidity and mortality among the young mature rabbits. The clinical signs were described and the rabbits were lICCTopsied.Specimens were collected fThe morbidity and mortality rates among the examined rabbits were 19% and 7% (Colibacillosis), 16% and 10% (pasturellosis), 4.5% and 2.3%(Salmonellosis) 12.8% and 1.1% (body mange), 9.1% and 3.6% (earand 4.6% (hepatic coccidiosis),8% and 10% (intestinal21.9% and 26.3% (RVlID) and 10.50/0 and 5% (MES) The rabbits, which suffered from bacterial diseases (colibacillosispasteurellosis and salmonellosis) showed general signs of illness. Thecharacteristic signs of colibacillosis were severe diarrhea and great lossesin the body weight, while the rabbits which suffered form pasteurellosis!howed diagnostic purulent or mucopurulent nasal and ocular discharges.
