two hundreds random samples, 50 farm bulk milk and 30each of water, bedding materials, milker’s hands, udder coat and dairyequipment, were collected from different dairy farms in Sharkiagovernorate. A survey was undertaken to determine the incidence ofcoliforms and Enterobacteriaceae spp. in milk and environmentalsources.9111 milk samples proved to be contaminated with coliformsusing MPN I ml. ranged from 1.5 x 103 to 1.5 x 108 with a mean value of8.6 x 106 /ml, The highest frequency distribution ( 84 % ) lies within therange 103 - 107 . While in case of VRB medium, the level of coliformcount detected in milk samples ranged from 3.3 x 104 - 6.2 X 109 with amean value of 2.7 x 108 /ml. The highest frequency distribution ( 50% )lies among 105 - 107•Incidence of Enterobacteriaceae spp. in raw milk samplesare reported here, show that all milk samples were found to containEnterobacteriaceae spp. ranged from 4.1 x 103 - 7.2 x 109 with a meanvalue of 8.1 x 108 /ml. The highest frequency distribution ( 78% ) lieswithin the range 105 - 109 •
