Abstract:
The present work has been conducted on 36 clinically healthy dogs and 4 donkeys where fractures weretraumatically induced for comprehensive experimental studies of different methods of bone fixation plaster casts, bone plating and intramedullary pinning).metacarpal, metatarsal and recent stable radial-ulnar fractures in smallruminants. It was used also in combination with internal fixation with bone plates in large animals. Bone plating included dynamic compression plates, semitubular and round holes plates. Standard approaches to the involved bones were used.Subperiosteal dissection has been used for plate to bone apposition.
