Experimental Pathological Studies on The Effect of Some Home Insecticide Powder on Chickens

Abstract:
Two hundred and eighty chickens were used to investigate the effect of some home insecticide powders on chickens. The age of the experimentally used chickens was one month. These chickens were divided into seven groups. Every group consisted of 40 chickenEach of the first six groups were adminstrated the insecticide, whilethe seventh group was used as a control. Group 1, 2 and 3 were given a ration containing Flit in aconcentration of 200,400 and 600 ppm respectivelly. Group 4,5 and6 were given a ration containing Baygon in a concentration of 200,400 and 600 ppm respectivelly. Group 7 which was used as a controlwas given a ration without insecticide. Five chickens from eachgroup were sacrificed on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, l Oth and] 2th week,from the onset of adminstration of the insecticide. The cl inical signs,the pathological findings and the biochemical changes of thesesacrificed chickens were recorded.The characters tic clinical signs in the chickens which weregiven Baygon were depression, loss of the appitite, diarrhea, tremor,high mortality and decrease in the body weight.The macroscopical changes were congestion, haemorrhages in most of the internal organs particularly liver and kidneys in thechicken which were given either Flit or Baygon.The microscopical examination of the internal organs showed dilatation of blood vessels in most of the organs together with perivasculitis. Liver showed cloudy swelling, vacuolar degenerative changes and coagulative
