Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus is a disease of abnormal carbohydrate metabolism mainly due to isulin insufficiency relative to the tissue requirements. The disease characterised primarly by hyperglycemia, and secondery by disturbances in lipid and protein metabolism. from the member of sulphonylurea, propranolol which is beta blockerand theophylline which is commonly found in food stuffs and used asdiuretics. Literaturs about the selected drugs and its interactions when used together are very scanty, so this work aimed to provide someinformations necessary to protect the diabetic patients from hypo andhyperglycemic coma if he administered oral hypoglycemic drug combined with other terapeutic agents. The present results were accomplished by clinicopathological means of investigation and correlating with histopathological changes.Sixty albino rats were used, and divided into two major groups.The first one was sub cutaneously injected with alloxan monohydrate(110 mg/kg B.W.) and the second group was lefted as normal rats.
