Abstract:
Amprolium is a heterocyclic compound that has been shown to possess a broad spectrum anti coccidial activity against most importantspecies of coccidia. Halofuginone is antiprotozozal drug. It has a great potency against most of the Eimeria species at a leSalinomycin is a mono glycoside polyether ionophore antibioticproduced by a strain of Streptomyces albus. It has been shown to beeffective against coccidiosis. These drugs are routinely used, mixed with ration, in poultry farmsfrom one day age through the 42nd day for controlling coccidia. Nevertheless, their abuse questioned the validity of their role III control of coccidiosis in poultry. Hence the present study was designed to address the most efficient use of these drugs bya complete disappearance of the oocysts on the 9th day of infection. However, the groups that received amprolium, halofuginone andsalinomycin only for 10 days prior to infectionwith Eimeria tenella fieldstrain disclosed normal decline on the daily oocyst count. If. Effect on tlte body weigltt and body weight gain:-By the end of the first week, all experimental groups revealed nosignificant effects on the body weight gain.
