Abstract:
The present work was performed to study the effects of o Devaro l-S on some biochemical parameters of the serum in albino rats beside the associated histopathological changes . One hundred and eighty healthy albino rats of both sexes were used in this stuThey were divided into three main equal groups (gp.A 1 week, gp-B 5 weeks and gp-C 10 weeks) according to the duration of treatment each of the main groups was divided into 6 groups gpl-(control), gp 2-(500) I.U/kg. B.W, gp 3-(1000) LU, gp 4-(5000), gp 5-(20.000), gp 6-(50.000) LU according to the given dose of Devarol-S intramuscularly. o The animals were sacrificed one day after the last injection blood was obtained and serum was sepanalysis specimens were collected from the liver, kidneys, lungs, heart, intestine, thyroid and parathyroid glands. The specimens were immediately fixed in 10 % neutralformalin, five micron thick paraffin sections were prepared andnained with H&E and Von Kossa for the microscopic examination. The pathological changes differed according to the dose andluration. Significant differences, among periods were encountered.n parameters as calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase,:holesterol, total lipids, BUN, creatinine, albumin, total protein, iebul in and A/G ratio. Moderately significant differences werecountered in albumin on the other hand, significant differences
