Some studies on pseudomonas infection in chicks

Abstract:
A total of 834 samples were collected from one day old ailing chicks, chicks suffering from sinusitis (2-3 weeks old age) , birds showing diarrhea (2-3 weeks old age), yolk sacs from fertile eggs, dead in shell embryos, non fertile eggs, egg shell, dust fand floor of hatcheries, fertile egg, dust of farms and rakes representing as 200 , 50 , 150 , 40, 120 , 80 , 100, 40 ,40, 50 and 4 respectively. These samples were collected from different localities . of Sharkia governorate.The collected samples were subjected to clinical, P. M. and bacterial examination at the department of poultry diseases, Faculty of Vet. Medicine, Zagazig University. Seventy three out of 834 samples were positive for isolation of P. aeruginosa with frequP. aeruginosa remain viable at room temperature in poultry ration, dust, straw litter and water for 18 days, 3 days, 25 days and 48 days respectively.The sensitivity test of 28 P. aeruginosa isolates revealed thatall isolates were sensitive to Enrofloxacin, Norofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Doxycyclin, Gentamycin and Oxytetracycline with frequency percentage 1000/0, 1000/0, 96.4%, 96.40/0 , 500/0 and 25%
