Abstract:
Milk as a complete diet may act as a vehicle to transmit some hazards to the consumers.Mastitis is considered as one important disease in ewes caused by several agentsThe exploration of agents of bacterial origin is the goal of this work to distinguish the bacterial causes ofmastitis in ewes bred in Sharkia Governorate.A total of 300 individua] milk samples were randomly collected from both apparently healthy and mastitic eWesbred in different localities spread allover Sharkia Governorate.Tne normal milK samples (160) were subjected to three field tests viz:(California mastitis test, Whiteside testand bromocresol purple test) to detect the subcllnical cases of mastitis as well as bacteriological examination while the mastitic milk samples examined in an attempt tc explore the probable bacterial causative agents.The resul ts of field tests and that of hacteriological examination of normal milk samples showed that 89 samples.
