Abstract:
The present study had been devoted to explore the effect of certain antibiotics on some bacteria isolated from buffalo semen, and sperms. A total of 128 semen samples were obtainedfrom buffalo bulls, kept in governmental farms and artificialinsemination centers by using artificial vagina .These animalswere free from venereal diseases,Brucellosis, and Tuberculosis. The present results showed that the incidence of different microorganisms in fresh undilueted buffalo semenwere E.coli (16.8%), Proteus vulgaris (7.6%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa ( 15 . 2%) , Citrobacter freundii (6.4%),Corynebacterium pyogenes (6.8%),Corynebacterium renale (8.4%) ,Staphylococcus aureus (9.6%),Staphylococcus epidermidis(10.4%) , Streptococcus pyogenes (7.2%) and streptococcus faecalis (11.6%).The total bacterial count (T.B.C.)in fresh undilueted 6 buffalo semen samples ranged from 3.1 to 5.7 X 10 bacteria/ml. Sensitivity teits of bacterial isolates revealed thatGentamycin, Amikacin, Cephapirin and Doxycycline had more prominant effects, than penicillin and streptomycinThe selected antbiotics were added to the non glycerolated
