Abstract:
Epidemiological studies were applied, in this workfnr the detection of fascioliasis in man and domesticanimals at Sharkia Governorate.EXPERIMENT IA total of 1086 patients that were attending varioustropical medical clinics at Sharkia Governorate wereexamined.The occurrence of human fascioliasis was 15cases with a percentage of 1.38.Patients have been divided into two m3in groups:Grou p (1) : Constituted 836 patients that were investi-gated using stool analysis.Sera were separated frompatient’s blood that proved to have Fasciola eggs in theirstool to be diagnosed serologically.8 patientswere shedding Fasciola eggs in their stool and werepositive serologically against F. gigantica adult wormantigen using counterimmunoelectro~horesis test (C.I.E.P).Group (2): Cbnstituted 250 patients that were investi-gated by stool analysis and’serodiagnosis.3 patientswere shedding Fasciola eggs in their stool and werealso carrying the specific antibodies against Fasciolagigantica adult worm antigen in their sera.Another4 patients were carrying specific antibodies againstF. gigantica antigen and were not shedding F. eggs in their
