Abstract:
Hyperlipidemias are the disorders of the synthesis or clearance oflipoproteins from blood stream. Usually detected by measuring plasmatriacylglycerols and cholesterol and are classified on the basis of whichclass of lipoprotein elevated. Personal factors such as age, sex and race, as well as, personal habits such as cigarette smoking, lack of exercise and nutritional habits were among the factors investigated to cause cardiovascular diseases. High blood presLDL. Many products or compounds are used as an alternative medicine fortreatment of hyperlipidemia, ginger, a natural material could be used as ahypolipidemic agent. Ethanolic extract of ginger produced significantantihyperlipidemic action by reducing the levels of serum and tissuecholesterol, serum triacylglycerols and increasing HDL-c level. In this study, two hypolipidemic agents, were used, ’pravastationsodium and a natural material (water and ethanoIic extracts of ginger).
