Abstract:
Rift Valley Fever (RVF) is an infectious disease. The meanto control the disease was vaccination and eradication ofvector. Many vaccines were used for this purpose, among themwere locally preparedattenuated RVF vaccine.to compare between themattenuated RVF vaccine and importedIn this study, trials were conductedFirstly, titration of original RVF virus vaccines on BHKcell line, the titer was 107 TClDso I ml, 106 TClDso I ml inlocally and imported attenuated RVF vaccines respectively.Safety test was conducted by inoculating in hamster 0.5 ml liPfor both vaccines and both vaccines were safe.Physical examination of vaccinated animals showed slightelevation of body temperature post vaccination with ei therlocal or imported RVF vaccine.The virus was reisolated from serum samples containingfrom sheep and cal ves. Ocular, nasal and rectal swabs wereobtained from vaccinated animals were free from the virus.One pregnant ewe vaccinated with locally prepared RVFvaccine (1 ml SIC) was aborted 10 th day after vaccination.
