Abstract:
It bas proved through design evidence from the examination of 1000blood smear stained with Giemsa stain for cattle, over a period of one year and taken from different parts of Egypt (El-Wady EI-Gedeed ”New Valley”, EI-Fayoum, Kena, Wady EI-Natroun, EI-Suis, El-Behyra and El-Kaloubya) theabsence of the Borrelia in cattle in Egypt and this is attributed to the absence of the causal intermediate agent of the disease (Ticks and lice).It has been possible to isolate the spirochaeta microbes relating to thebirds from afflicted ticks and poultry in different regions across the Republic (EI-Kanater, Benha, Cairo, El-Wady El-Gedeed and Wady EI-NatrOlm). It has been also, isolated two strains from ducks and turkeys from Benha and the El- Wady EI-Gedeed by perfoIt has been possible to maintain the Borrelia anserina microorganisms ofbirds at high degrees of temperature and it was found that it can remain virulent for one day at 37°C.
