Abstract:
Maduramicin, monensin and semduramicin given either 2 days, to infection with Eimeria tenella field strain, for 12 days or 3 day postinfection for 7 days, elicited a significant time related reduction in the oocyst count throughout the experimental periodPreinfection administration of semduramicin completely elimenatedthe oocysts on the 6th day, maduramicin and monensin achieved the sameOn the 9th day, the oocysts compeletely disappeared in response tothe three drugs given postinfection.11- Effect on the body weight, weight fain and gain percent: Compared with non treated infected group, maduramicin, monensin semduramicin, given pre or postinfection evoked a significant increase in the weight gain and gain percent.Both maduramicin and monensin, given preinfection, displayed asignificant increase in weight gain and gain percent compared with theirpostinfection administration. No differences were recorded withSemduramicin, given prior to infection, displayed, the most significant increase in the weight gain and gain percent throughout theperiod followed by maduramicin, where monensin
