Abstract:
The present study aimed at spot-lighting the epidemiologic role of some farm animals (cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats and rabbits) in the transmission of fascioliasis to man. To achieve this goal, coprological examination and serological investigations asCentral Hospital at Ashmoun were coprologically examined. Snail populations in Menofia province were identified to determine the snail species acting as the intermediate host of the prevailing Fasciola worms. A total of 1935 faecal samples were collected infestation rate 34 (51.52%), followed by Solea vulgaris (Mousa) asinfestation rate was 19 (31.67%). The infestation rate for Mm-one labrax(Karoosse), Mullus barbatus (Barbuni) and Chryosphryes aurate (Deneese)were 13 (27.66%), 17 (24.29%) and 11 (22.45%) respectively. low rate ofinfestation was noticed in Epinephalus gigas (Wakar) and Sciaena umbra(Loat) 6(12.5%) and 9(16.36%). One of interesting point in this survay, wasabsent of infection with metacercariae in both Cottus gobio (Abo-kirsh)
