Prevalalence of parasites of public health importance in some fresh water fishes

Abstract:
300 fresh fish samples were collected from Dakahlia•Governorate, they included 150 fish sample each of TiJapia spp.and MugiJ spp. The collected samples were examined forprevelance of encysted metacercariae and submitted for someprocessmg methods to study their effect on infectivity ofmetacercariae.The encysted metacercariae were detected in 85.33% and82.67% of the examined TiJapia spp. and MugiJ spp. respectively.Concerning the monthly prevelance of encysted metacercariaethe highest infestation rate in both TiJapia spp. and MugiJ spp. wasrecorded in Summer monthes (l 00%) while the lowest infestationrate in both TiJapia spp. and MugiJ spp. was recorded in Wintermonthes C69.2%, 58.33 respectively).On the other hand the highest seasonal prevelance wasrecorded in Summer season followed by Autumn and Spring whilethe lowest prevelance was recorded in Winter season in both TiJapiaspp. and MugiJ spp.The metacercariae infesting TiJapia spp. were able to developinto their adult stages when experimentally fed . to puppiesrecovenng two trematodes - from their intestine identified as
