Abstract:
Two hundred thirteen chickens of di- fferent breeds and ages and one hundred eight chicks 7-day-old were used during the course of this investigation. The first group of chickens (213) contained two categories, the first category consisted of one hundred examinations and did not reveal any signs of candidosis, then further mycological examination was conducted todisclose the incidence of different yeasts in their crop. The second category comprised 63 chickens weretentatively diagnosed as candidosis from overt clinical signs, the birds were subjected to mycologicalexamination and isolates were further identified by conventional confirmatory tests. The second group (180 chicks) was randomly classified into 2 categories. The first category had one hundred forty Balady chicks aged 7-day-old, they were apparently normal7-day-old and were free from candidosis, induction ofcandidiosis was produced, thereafter they were subjectedto several clinical treatment trials.
