Abstract:
400 individual quarter milk samples collected from 120cows Showing clinically sound udders secreting apparentlylooking normal mi1k. The animals were randomly selectedfrom three dairy farms of Dakhlia Governorate (Shoha, el-Baramoun and El-Youssifia Farms) collected samples first1ysubjected to California mastitis test as first screeningtest for detection of subclinical mastitis mi1k at thefarm. The positive California mastitis test mi1k samplessubjected immediately for confirmatory screening tests(catalase directmi roscopic, somatic cell count”D.M.S.C.C”)as wellas microbiological detection and isolationof examination formycoplasmataceae and AcholeplasmataceaeThe obtained findings revealed that 150 (37.5%) out of400 quarter milk samples proved tobe suffering fromsubclinical mastitis with different positive scores ofCalifornia mastitis test. The correlation between positive California mastitisand microbiological positive results, i n ( 1 + ) score thenumber of Acholeplasma positive samples were 2 (2.4%) of 85m ilk samples, in ( 2 + ) score was one (2.9%) of 35mi1ksamples, w hi 1 e i n (3+ ) Scores were 22 (73.3%) of 30 m ilk samples. Therefore, California mastitis test with scores(3+) more sensitive and reliable than scores (1+) and (2+)
