Abstract:
Enteritis and diarrhoea consider up till now to be the most importantdiseases affecting buffalo and cow calves especially in the early months of life which lead to high morbidity and mortality rates and make higheconomic losses in meat production which consider the first source ofprotein requirement for human consumption. The exploration of causative agent of bacterial origin is the goal ofthis work to distinguish the bacterial causes of enteritis in buffalo calvesbred in Ismailia Govemorat. So a total of 105 individual faecal swabs wererandomly collected from enteric buffalo calves-bred in different localities illIsmailia Govemorate besides 20 blood samples from feverish animals.Bacteriological examination of 105 faecal samples and their bloodsamples showed that E. coli were predominent (33.33%) followed by Staph.aureus(16%), Proteus mirabilis (1.33%), Proteus vulgaris (12%). Klebsiellaoxytoca (10.66%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (2.66%) in addition to sommicroorganisms as 7 Citrobacter diversis,5 Citrobacter freundii,laEnterobacter cloacae, 5 Enterobacter aerogenes, 3 Serratia liqllefaciens , 1Serratia marcescens, 1 Provdecia rettgeri and 4 Edwardsilla tarda. The most common serotypes ofE. coli isolated were 055:B5 with anincidence (24%) followed by 026:B6 with an incidence of (18%), 086:B7with an incidence of (12%), 01l9:B14 with an incidence of (10%),0111 :B4 with the incidence of (8%), 0125:B15 with an incidence (6%),
