Lincomycin hydro chloride monohydrate is a bacteriostaticantibiotic closely related to cephalosporins acting by interfering withDNA synthesis in bacterial cells.It is effective only on gr+ve organisms, bacteroids andmycoplasma spp .It is absorbed orally entering all tissues even the placenta andbones but it does not cross the blood brain barrie r ..It is used in treatment of osteomyelitis and mycoplasmosis(CRD) in a dose level ,10 mg/kg b.wt . .JIorally or parenterally every 12hours.Spectinomycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic closely related toaminoglycoside antibiotics .It is active against gr-ve organisms and mycoplasma.It is used for treatment of colibacillosis and CRD in poultry in dose,20 mg/kg b. wt , .Lincospectin is a combination of Lincomycin and Spectinomycinused mainly for the treatment of CRD in a dose, 15mg/kg .b.wt.,.The present work was conducted to gain more explicitinformation on the side effects of the drugs, Through studing itspharmacological effects in chickens, liver and kidney functions and itshistopathological effect.
