Abstract:
The widespread use of antibiotics in poultry farms for increasing growth rates, prophylaxis and therapy may cause dangerous effect to consumer due . to antibiotic residues. Therefore, the present study was aimed to evaluate tylosin and gentamicin eliminat1- Detection of tylosin residues:Forty two chickens of both sexes were given a balanced ration free from antibacterial drugs for a period or two weeKs.Three chickens as control were microbiologically examined for the absence of antibacterial resfdues. The rest Of chickens (39chickens)were orallyadministered tylosin 25mglKg.b.wt. twice daily for five successive days. Three chickens were slaughtered 3, 6, 9, 12, 18,24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96 and 120 hours after tylosin administration. Samples from serum, kidney, liver, lung, gizzard, heart, breastbreast and thigh muscles up to 96 hours post administration. Tylosin
