Epidemiological and Immunological Studies on Bovine Tropical Theileriosis

Abstract:
One of the most destructive enemies of the livestock industry inEgypt is the bovine tropical theileriosis. The serious effect of the disease had been resulted from its high mortality specially among the exotic and cross-bred animals, and high morbidity whprovince was 8.3% as out of 818 examined animals, 68 were found tobe infected with Theileria annulata.(ii) The clinical picture of the disease varied from the acute tolatent form.The most prominant clinical symptoms that recorded in this study were fever eye affection in the form ocular discharge, conjuntivities and keratitis, and enlargement of the superficial lymph nodes. Some cases showed diarrhoea which was tinged shallow and rapid respiration.(iii) The age susceptibility was low in young age group, less than l year (2.9 %) while the age group of I -4 years showed the highest.
