Effect Of Some Pineal Active Substances on Induced Cancer Breast In Female Rats

In this studyand fibrosarcoma of the subcutaneous tissues were investigatedin rats.Eighty virgin female albino rats (Sprugue Dawly Strain) were used. The rats aged 50-60 days. They were divided into 8 groups, 10 rats each.The experiment were performed ,(4) groups of rats were used in each one . The first experiment was carried out for three months and the second experiment for six months.In each experiment the rats were used as follows:-One group was kept as control (non treated ). The second one was treated with the solvent of DMBA alone. Animals of the third group were inj ected with a single dose of DMBA intravenously (l0 mg). Rats of the ”f ou r t h group were injected with a single 250 ug melatonin for three months for the first experiment and six months for the second experiment.Results of this study showed that DMBA injection in rats for three months produced preneoplastic lesions (adenosis,epitheliosis, cyst formation and fibrosis).
