chemical and microbiological evaluation of groundwater in upper egypt

One hundred groundwater samples were collected from different sources including drilled( 80), driven (18) and wells in both Assiut and Sohag Governorates, Upper egypt Physical evaluation of the groundwater samples recovered a range encountered between: -0( 8 .08 ± 0 . 004 ) and Sohag ( 7 . 99 ± 0 . 011 ) Gover- norates. -1.00 to 10.20 mg 02/L. for organic matter with over all mean value of 4.58 ± 0.02 in all samples of Assiut (4.75 ± 0.03) and Sohag (4.30 ± 0.05).
