Abstract:
Salmonella affected poultry industry causing major economic losses due to high morbidity and mortality, loss ofbody weight and low egg production.In this studi chickens were collected from different private and governmental farms scattered all over Domiategovernorate and were sufferingfrom greenish mucoid diarrhoea and anemic comb and Wattles and in post mortum examination it revealed variable degrees of hepatitis, splenomegaly accompanied by necrotic foci inboth organs and enteritis. These birds were examined bacteriologically and82 isolates of salmonella gallinarum were obtained and tested for sensitivity to available antimicrobial drugs in order to choose the drug of choice in controlling fowl typhoid. Flumequine, gentamycin, neomycin, nalidixic acid, chlormphinicol and nitrofurdrugs in a decreasing manner.One isolate from natural those obtainedfrom infections was serotyped and it was Sa.lmonella gall inarumtype 01,9,12 and it was used in induction of experimental infection by oral route with 5xl07 in 2 viable bacteria months old female native breed and clinically healthy
