Abstract:
Two experiments were conducted in this study, the first one was carried out on twenty female Friesian calves, divided into four groups, each animal in the first three groups was inoculated with one of the FMD vaccine components and the fourth group was inThe most changes which happened in leucocytic picture were due to inoculation of aluminium hydroxide gel adjuvant, then to the vaccine components as a whole, after that to saponin adjuvant. For serum proteins, the inoculation of the vaccine components as a whole was the mosteffective, then aluminium hydroxide gel adjuvant, then the inactivated FMDvirus only. For immunological status, also the inoculation of the vaccine as a whole was the most effective, then saponin adjuvant, then aluminiumhydroxide gel adjuvant.from the first experiment, it was concluded that, the most changeswhich happened in each of leucocytic picture, serum proteins and theantibody levels in calves were referred to inoculation of inactivated FMDvirus supplemented with a combination of aluminium hydroxide gel and saponin adjuvants (the vaccine). The second experiment in the present study was carried out on four different groups (calves, heifers, lactating and pregnant cows) to study the physiological changes which may occur in each group after vaccination with
