Abstract:
Three applied experiments were conducted to study the extent to which the birds (broilers or layers) are inneed for animal protein. The effect of all plant pro-tein-diet or FM supplementation was tested in relation to the bird performance. weight!~in and egg production. 2- A fourth experiment was planned to test the SEM qualityavailable in the market. 3- The first experiment (two trials) was planned to be pre- liminary for the others and intended to trace any effectfor the whole plant protein diet (C/SEM) on chick and if it is possible to compensate for FM absence. Twelve of one day-old broiler chicks (commercial Arbor Acre) were used to experiment;three levels of fish meal(7, 4 & O%).for a period extended to less than two weeks. The SEM failed to satisfy the needs for growth and toprotect the chicks against nutritional disorder, where leg disorder was appeared-in some chicks at the age of 5days. On the ground that SBM failed to satisfy the needs forgrowth and leg disorders resulted in the first few days a second trial was performed with increasing the amount ofvitamins & minerals ; calcium; methionine & manganese
