Abstract:
This work was• carried out to study some of biochemical and histochemical changes which acompanied experimental diabets by Streptozotocin in both pregnant and non pregnant rats .. In this study we used a total of 80 adult female rats and were acclimated in the laboratory of Physiology and Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Vet. Med., Zagazig University, under good hygienic conditions, with room temperature of 250C and fed daily barley and baby milk (half cream formula Similac). Rats under studywere classified into two main groups (A)Female non pregnant rats and(B) female pregnant rats. Each main group was subdivied into foursubgroups, (each of la rats) as follows1- Control non pregnant or pregnant female rats (control negative).2-Control non-pregnant or pregnant female rats injected with citratebuffer (control positive).3- Non pregnant or pregnant female rats rendered diabetic by Streptozotocin in a dose of 50 mg/kg., dissolved in citrate buffer and injected intraperitoneally.4-Streptozotocin diabetic non pregnant or pregnant rats and treated with insulin.
