Abstract:
For performing the present study, 112 rats were used. They were classified into 7 different age groups: 1 d. , 1 moo , 3 moo , 6 moo , 9 moo , 12moo and 24 moo Each group was alloted 8 males and 8 females. The animals were routinely killed between9.Q and 11 .. 0h, then immediatelythe livers were excised and the samples were prepared for determination of the activities of some hepatic enzymes: LactThe results obtained could be summarized as follows:I. Lactate Dehydrogenase Activities:-Significantly changed under the efffect of different ages & agemg m ,.both sexes. where the activities were higher in younger age groups thanthat of older groups.2. Superoxide Dismntase Activities:-Significantly changed under the effect of different ages & ageing in both sexes. They showed variable activities during the first 9 months of age, then they significantly decreased in aged group (12 moo & 24 mo.)than the younger groups.
