Abstract:
In the first experiment, two group of 60 bird,Matroh and L.S.L. and fed commercial laying rationfor 14 weeks to study their perfermance of eggproduction and shell quality.(1) Egg number and egg production rate was found tobe highly significant between the two breeds ,where the average Matroh production was 59.65%while in L.S.L. was 26.22 % .. ~2) There was no si~nificant difference between theaverage egg weight in the two breeds rangedfrom 40 - 42 gm.(3) The egg shell weight and shell thi~kness wasfound higher in Matroh breed than in L.S.L andthis significant difference may be speciescharacteristics and not due to the ration fed.Shell calcium percent in each breed rangedbetween 35 - 31 % and this result indicate thatthe amount of calcium secreted in the egg shellnearly constant and not affected by breed.
