Abstract:
The present study was carried out to report onincidence of tondinitio in oquines nccording todifferent species, type, age, severity of affec-tion, affected tendon, affected limb and type of work.Also compar a t Lve studies were undertaken among themethods of treatment with special referenceto carbon fibre implantation. Angiographical, histo-chemical as well as histopathological examinationwere adopted.Incidence of tendinitis in equines was carriedout on 843 animals (319 horses, 414 donkeys & 110mules) and indicated a general percentage of 22.5%and namely 18.8% among horses, 28% in donkeys & 12.7%in mules.Among the different types of horses, the highestincidence was demonstrated between the warm bloodednative breeds (24%) then in warm blooded foreign breeds(17%) & thoroughbreds (14%). The least incidence wasrecorded among Arabian horses (13%).Examination of the 843 equidae revealed the presenceof 190 animals (60 horses, 116 donkeys and 14 mules)affected with different forms of tendinitis.
