Abstract:
This work was carried out on 98 male and female Payomi chicks e.nd Fowls. Forty eight 1 day-26 weekBold chickens normal healthy fowls were used for macro- snd micromorphological studies in add! tion to thehistochemical reactions. Twenty-five chicks of 1 day old chicks weregiven vitamin A-deficient ration until chioks of 1 day old chicks were given. Protein deficient ration ~tl1 were sacrifioed at 2, 4, 8 and 10 weeks of age. The samples collected at various ages from the chick- ens on the defticient ration were used tor a~The morphological studies showed that, the prove- ntriculus of ~ayom1 fowls i8 small tubuIar in shape carrying maorosoopio papillae on its muoosa.Microscop- ioally, ~he lamina ~p1thelialis is formed of simplecolnmnar epithelium of mucus_seoreting type. The lamina propria is formed ot widely meshed loose C .T. lntil tre;te with many lymphocytes. The submucosa Is tormed of loose connective tissue surrounding the proventr1cular glands
