Abstract:
Serologic characteristics of sheep pox virus were investigated in this study, A sheep pox tissue culutre antigen was prepared and used in the development of both the microtechnique of agar gel diffusion and complement rixation test. The two techniques werglycol while the unconcentrated antigen gave negative results. Pricipitin antibodies against sheep pox virus could th be traced as early as the seventh day and up to the 45day post immunization.The developed microtechnique of complement fixationtest gave a titre of 1/8 on the 7E~ day which increased to 1:32 in the 3O!~ day post immunization. Complemenbfi.ll.ing antibodies persisted up to the 60!h day post hllan:.n-ization.
