Abstract:
The camel is still considered as an important source of meat and wool production and used also in farming. There are about 267 thousand camels in ~gypt and 13 thousand camels in Sharkia province and therefore the largest populations of these animals are pstained blood films. The serochemical tests (formal-gel and meurcuric chloride tests) gave 29.2% positive results and the two tests were correlating to each other. In chronic cases of trypanosomasis whose blood was microscopically negative and serochemicaproved infected by the appearance of camel trypanosomes in the peripheral circulation of rats on the 6th day.
