Abstract:
Fourty Egyptian buf~81o animals were used. Their ages ranged between 40-daye old and over 10 years. The numberedSamples were taken from vagina, vaginal vestibule end clitoris. Then they were processed for the demonstration ofthe general struoture Using H & E • Other sta1na as: Van Gieson’a Picl’Ofuchsin, Curt’s picroponceau, Weigert’s ela- otic stain, A1cian blue, muCicarmine. PAS ~ PAS diastasewere also used for the demonstration of Collagenous fibres, smooth muscle fibres, elastic fibres & mucopolyseoobaridea of the glandular structures.of: Our reaul ta showed that the wall of the vagina 1s formed1- Tunica mucosas which in the calf, is mostly lined by 81~ple columnar epithelium. However~caudally. patchesof stratified columnar epithelium, and at the most caudal part just cran.i~l to the hymen, stratified
