Some studies on protozoal infections among cultured fish in sharkia

The present investagation was carried out to recogonize the possible protozoal parasite infections incultured fishes in Sharkia province.A Total number of 862 of fish species as 367 Tilapia,168 Nile Catfish and 327 Common Card of different ages, were collected from different localities and sources in Sharkia fish farmsduring the peroid from Autum 1988 till Summer 1989 . Results obtained in this study revealed the followingresults under conditions mentained :1- Clinically diseased fish showed ,listless, no escape reflex,apoxia, some affected fish showed abnormal swimming movements orscrape themselves aganist the solid objects other fish were apparently normal.Close examination of fishesin aquarium revealed skin lesions including change in colour emaciation,mucous secreation with witish spot, or small white pastules were commonly observed on the integument of skin of fish, turbidity of the eyelins.Gills appeared pale covered with viscous mucous .
