Abstract:
Many new drugs have been introduced in veterinary practice, and from these drugs the combination of doxycycline and colistin which is known as doxystinThe literature failed to give a full comparative picture about theeffect of doxycycline, colistin and doxystin on the blood picture,clinicobiochemical, and body weight changes in comparison with thehistopathological changes. Most of the available literature deals with theside effects of doxycycline or colistin, but no literature deals with the side effects of doxystin. Also, no literature deals with the side effects of colistin after intramuscular injection in chickens, hence the present work. Salmonellosis is a poultry dOne hundred and seventy female chickens ”shaver Minibro DW 300”of one day old age were used in this work and divided into threeexperiments. The first experiment was of one hundred and five chickens divided into seven equal groups. Six groups of them were given orally thetherapeutic and five times the therapeutic dose of doxycycline, colistin and doxystin, and the seventh group was the non treated control.The second experiment was of fourty chickens divided into four equal groups. Three groups of them were injected intramuscularlyby the three mentioned antibiotics and the fourth group was the non
