Abstract:
Salmonella is one of the dangerous bacteria which causes a zoonotic disease producing severe economic lossesThe infected camels with salmonella with or without detectable clinical symptoms giving a great chance for dissemination of infection among other animals and human who considered camelmeat one of the cheapest source of animal protein . For theseconsiderations this work was planned to investigate the following points1- Studying the incidence of salmonellae in both living andslaughtered camels in Sharkia Governorate and serotypingof such isolates .2- Studying the efficiency of tube agglutination test fordetection of salmonella carrier animals3- Detection of in vitro antibiotics sensitivity pattern ofthe isolated strains to choose the highly potent ones .So faecal , blood and serum samples were collected from100 living camels from Belbais , El-Hossienia, Saft-El-Henna,El-Sowa and Diarb Nigm . Besides intestinal contentsmesenteric lymph nodes and serum samples from slaughteredcamels at Belbais , Zagazig ,El-Godieda and Menia El-kamhabattoirs.
