Abstract:
This work was carried out to study some of biochemical changes which accompanied experimental diabetes byStreptozotocin in both pregnant and non pregnant rats.In this study we used a total of 80 adult female rats and were acclimarcd in the laboratory of Physiology and Biochemistry , Department, Faculty of Yet. Med., Zagazig University, under good hygienic conditions, with room temperature of 25°C and fed dailyon barley and baby milk (half cream formula Similac). Rats understudy were classified into two main groups (A) Female non pregnant rats and (B) female pregnant rats. Each main group was subdivided into four subgroups, (each of 10 rats) as follows1. Control non pregnant or pregnant female rats (untreated , control).2.Control non-pregnant or pregnant female rats injected withcitrate buffer (treated control).3.Non pregnant or pregnant female rats rendered diabetic by Streptozotocin in a dose of 50 mg/kg., dissolved ,in citrate butter and injected inrraperironeally.
