Abstract:
A total number of 121 Egyptian male buffalo-veal calves were randomly collected from farm of San El Hagar-Sharkia governorate andwere divided into: Group I: Contained (40) healthy buffalo-calves examined in thefollowing stage.a.Suckling stage: Their age less than 21 days old and they were fed on milk of their own mother (1 - 11/2 kg twice daily).b.Pre-weaning stage: The calves age ranged between 3 weeks and 21/2 months, and they were fed on milk of different mothers (11/2 - 21/2 kg twice daily). In additon to a mixture of crusched corn and barely was given (4:1 w/wt) ad libitium as a calf starterc.Earlyweaning stage:The calves age ranged between 21/2 - 5 months old and they were fed on 1-11/2 kg per day formulated ration (Misr Co. for Oils and Soaps). In addition barseem hay and rice straw (ad libitium) were given.d.Weaned growing stage:The claves age ranged between 5-10 months they were fed on 2-21/2 kgper day formulated ration (Misr Co. for Oils and Soaps). In addition tobarseem hay and rice straw (ad libitium) were given.
