Abstract:
The present study was devoted to investigate the effect of carazolol and propranolol as Beta-adrenergic blockers on the activity of isolated and intact rat uteri at the different stages of estrous cycle, early and late pregnancyand their interaction with oxytocin.1- Experiments on isolated rat uteri:- The two chosen Beta-adrenergic blockers (propranolol and carazolol) produced their stlinulatory effects in doses varied from 1 u g /ml up to 30 ug /ml a f ter whi eh an inhi b i tory ef f ec t appeared.- At proe s t rousthe increase in the response was differed according to the dose from 21.4% to 51.9% for c a r a z o l 0],while varied between 27.46% to 52.08% for propranolol. During estrous an increase in the response varied from20.25% to 34.75% for carazo]ol and 30.75% for proprano10]were obtained.
