Abstract:
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of some plants on the growth rate inbroilers.fenugreek plantand seeds also chicoria plant were collected then were dried and were given mixed with the ration at rate 5%.A number of 400 one day old chicks were divided into fourgroups each contained a number of 100 chicks to represent 50male(control) were fed the basal ra tion. The second group was fed onfenugreek dried plant mixed wi th basal ration, the third group was also fed on the basal ration mixed wi, th fenugreek seeds powder but the fourth group fed on basal ration mixe~ with chic-cria dried plant. The basal ration contained 22,38 % protein wasused for 21 dayes as a s tar.t, which was then replac ed by a growingration containing 20.66 % protein untill the fifth week, to besubsti tutedby finshing ration which contains 18.29 % protein up,v the eight we ek. ’I’h e resul ts ob tained were recorded and summer-ized as follows .•1- Live body weight :Generally non significant changes in ve body weight inchick oup IV which were fed on chicoria dried plant in acomparison wi th the control birds where as there was a significantecrease in live body ’Height in f eina I.e chicks of group 11 whichITe fed on helbah dried plant after the second and third weeks Inlyof feeding.On the otherhand, the male chicks showed no ,ignificant changes • The male chicks in group III which fed on elbah seed powder showed a significant decrement in live body
