Abstract:
The present work was planned to study some bio- chemical alteration in the erythrocytes of rabbits asa_ result of therapeutic and higher doses for bothAcaprin and Berenil as antiparasitic drugs.Forty eight rabbits were kept under hyageinie measures. The samples were collected after 24 hours,5 and 10 days in either therapeutic and higher doses. The samples were subjected to analysis ot the following parameters:(1) glucose-6-phoaphate dehydrogenase.(2) reduced glutathione(3) erythrocyte pyruvate kinase.(4) erythrocyte cholJ.nesteraae.(5) haemoglobinThe results obtained could be summarized as tollows:1.!he erythrocyte glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase showed a non-significant decrease atter 24 hours ofthe normal therapeutic dose ot Acaprin (1 mg/kg. body weight), while after 5 days of injection, a highly significant decrease of G-6-PD but after10 days ot injection, a non-significant decrease was
