Studies on Fascioliasis Among Slaughtered Animals At Sharkia Abattoirs

Slaughtered animals at Sharkia abattoirs (1025 cattle, 1035 buffaloes, 606 sheep, 60 goat and 1000 Camels) were examined for the presence of Fasciola infestation. The incidence of Fascioliasis was 32.97% , 39.61%, 39.27%, 1.66% and 0.1% in cattle, buffalocattle, buffaloes and sheep respectively. Also the incidence of Fascioliasis was increased by advancingin age. Effect of seasons was slight but the infestation was increased to some extent in spring and summer.
